Egypt Requests $77 Million To Support Skyguard-Sparrow Upgrades

Egypt would spend an estimated $77 million on a potential foreign military sale of 40 Skyguard AMOUN Solid-State Transmitters to support the upgrade of the Skyguard-SPARROW Launcher/Illuminator System and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support. The prime contractor would be Raytheon [RTN] Integrated Defense Systems in Tewksbury, Mass. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the possible sale July 1.
