DataPath, Inc., said last week that its shareholders have approved the acquisition of the company by Rockwell Collins [COL] with the closing date still expected to be during the second quarter of 2009.
Rockwell Collins said in early April it planned to acquire DataPath, which provides satellite communications network solutions to military and commercial customers, in a deal valued at $130 million (Defense Daily, April 2). Terms of the deal include a $20 million cash payment and the assumption of $110 million in DataPath debt and existing obligations.
DataPath opens the commercial satellite-based network communications market to Rockwell Collins and gives it new capabilities as a full service integrator for satellite communications solutions.
