Huntington Ingalls Inc., Newport News, Virginia, is awarded a $33,455,511 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-25-C-2127) for advance planning and long-lead-time material procurement to prepare and make ready for the accomplishment of the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) inactivation and defueling. Work will be performed in Newport News, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by March 2026. Fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $32,700,016 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
