Civilian Cuts To Space Force Workforce Will Challenge Acquisitions, Purdy Warns

Defense Department plans to reduce its civilian workforce will make it difficult on the U.S. Space Force’s acquisition offices and lead to program delays unless some requirements are dropped, the acting Space Acquisition Executive said this week. The actual impact will be hard to quantify, but the Space Force is “a heavily acquisition force” and civilians provide “continuity” within the various systems program offices, and so a reduction in force “will impact us in a pretty great way,” Maj.
