CATSA Awards Smiths Detection $19M for AT X-Ray Systems

Smiths Detection has received a $19.1 million contract from the Canadian Air Transportation Security Authority (CATSA) to provide Advanced Technology (AT) X-Ray systems to screen passengers' carry-on bags at checkpoints. The award follows a $27.1 million contract CATSA gave to Smiths in Nov. 2009 for the same systems, the HI-SCAN 6040 aTiX and HI-SCAN 7555 aTiX multi-view scanners (TR2, Dec. 9, 2009).
