The professional services firm Novetta Solutions, LLC has acquired International Biometric Group, LLC, an integration and consulting firm in the areas of network security, access control and biometrics.

Terms of the deal, which was announced this month, were not disclosed.

“In welcoming IBG to the Novetta family, we gain a new set of strategically significant capabilities and technical solutions in the emerging field of identity intelligence, the nexus of biometrics and virtual identity management,” Peter LaMontagne, Novetta’s CEO, said in a statement. “And for our employees we can now offer career opportunities that span the full spectrum of cutting edge technical challenges, from big data and cyber security to social media and gaming, all in a national security context.”

Novetta, which has capabilities in big data analytics, cyber security consulting, cloud computing and information technology, was formed last March through the merger of White Oak Technologies and FGM, Inc. Novetta is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners.

In the biometrics area IBG has expertise in fingerprint, face and iris recognition and in counter-spoofing and non-cooperative collection. The company has also developed a comprehensive suite of proprietary solutions in the virtual realm for analysis and technology databases, complementing its identity services solutions.

IBG’s customers include Fortune 500 companies, the federal government, including the Army’s Biometric Identity Management Agency, and international defense organizations.

IBG’s senior management will remain with the company. Houlihan Lokey served as IBG’s financial adviser on the deal.
