Oshkosh Defense [OSK] has been tapped to integrate upgraded autonomous technology into the new mobile ground–based anti-ship missile system it’s delivering to the Marine Corps, which will allow it to move beyond teleoperations and operate as a self-driving platform. Forterra, which is providing its AutoDrive software as Oshkosh Defense’s partner on the Marine Corps’ Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires (ROGUE-Fires) program, said the new $29.9 million award is the “first production contract specifically for ground vehicle autonomy.” “Fielding…
