JIEDDO Issues BAA for Rapid Counter-IED Capabilities

The Pentagon's Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeking proposals for the rapid development of innovative capabilities to defeat IEDs employed against dismounted U.S. or coalition forces anywhere in the world, but especially in Afghanistan. JIEDDO wants capabilities that can be developed, demonstrated and deploying within six to 12 months of award but is willing to entertain less mature systems with a potentially high payoff.
