House Panel’s NDAA Mark Calls On Pentagon To Establish Directed Energy Working Group

Lawmakers are looking to establish a new working group at the Pentagon to better coordinate development of directed energy (DE) capabilities across the services. The House Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence and Emerging Threats & Capabilities’ markup of the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act calls for the new working group to “leverage shared research and development, eliminate redundant efforts, and expedite the operationalization of directed energy programs.” The committee supports investments across the Department of Defense in directed…
