HASC NDAA Requires JROC Certification Before Army Can Divest Extended Range Gray Eagles

The House Armed Services Committee’s version of the next defense policy bill requires the Army to receive certification from the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) before potentially divesting of its MQ-1C Gray Eagle Extended Range (GE-ER) drones. The measure from Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) was adopted during HASC’s markup of the fiscal year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act last week, and follows the Army’s plan to make cuts to the Gray Eagle fleet as part of its new transformation initiative.…
