Biden Authorizes New $567 Million Weapons Aid Package For Taiwan

President Biden has authorized $567 million in new weapons aid for Taiwan, the largest such package to date. A White House memo published on Sunday detailed the directive for the new Taiwan security assistance package, which will draw “defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training.” Specifics on the capabilities to be included in the new Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package have not yet been disclosed.
