Australia Expands Global Satellite Investment With Northrop Grumman Contract

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is expanding its global satellite investment with a $175 million contract to Northrop Grumman [NOC] to provide network management capability for Australia’s participation in the Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS) system. Northrop Grumman announced on July 10 it will provide its Satellite Communications Operations and Planning Element (SCOPE) integration tools, alongside ViaSat’s [VSAT] dual-band satellite terminal and Australian telecommunications company Optus’ operating systems to fully realize Australia’s participating in the global satellite operation.
