X-Bow Static Fires Large Rocket Motor For First Time Using Propellants Made In-House

Rocket motor developer X-Bow Systems recently static fired its large Ballesta solid rocket motor using propellant it produced in-house, a key milestone demonstrating its advanced manufacturing process that it believes is ahead of any competitor. The approximately 20-second static fire of the Ballesta-34 solid rocket motor (SRM) occurred in late June at the X-Bow’s Luling, Texas, “giga-campus” and used propellant grains manufactured at its research and development facilities in Socorro, N.M.
