Smiths, Rapiscan Get More X-Ray AT Orders

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded Smiths Detection a $17 million contract for Advanced Technology (AT) X-Ray machines to be deployed at passenger checkpoints in some of the nation's airports. The order is on top of an $8.2 million contract the company received from TSA earlier this spring for 48 of its 6040aTiX X- Ray AT machines (TR2, May 14).
