Sikorsky Designing Larger Version Of Rotor Blown Wing UAS For ‘Undisclosed Customer’

Sikorsky [LMT] is currently designing a larger version of its ‘rotor blown wing’ unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for an “undisclosed customer,” a company official has confirmed. Igor Cherepinsky, director of Sikorsky Innovations, recently told reporters this version of the rotor blown wing UAS will be 2,000 to 3,000 pounds, compared to the 130-pound demonstrator the company has been flying to date and the 330-pound system it's building for a separate DARPA effort. “Because it is a flying wing it actually…
