MESA, Ariz., Jan. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), a global leader in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), announced today its partnership with the Citation Jet Pilots Association (CJP) as a corporate sponsor. CJP member pilots can take advantage of APS UPRT programs designed for Citation pilots to support their progression in the CJP Gold Standard Safety Award program. APS UPRT mitigates the risk of Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) through proven training targeted to teach pilots the skills to recognize, prevent and, if necessary, recover quickly, correctly, and confidently from unexpected airplane upset flight conditions that lead to LOC-I accidents. apstraining.com/cjp

Driving down the single pilot accident rate through pro-active, robust, integrated upset training intervention is a top focus area for APS to help pilots bring everyone home safely. While LOC-I has been the number one cause of aviation fatalities over the last decade across all sectors of aviation, single pilot operators have been shown to have over six times as many LOC-I related accidents compared to crewed flight operations.

Crewed flight operations, despite demonstrating improved performance compared to single pilots, have unique crew-related challenges in an airplane upset event. Coordinating Pilot Flying and Pilot Monitoring responses and actions as a crew are critical when seconds count. APS structured methodology for upset recovery provides a common approach for both flying and monitoring pilots to use immediately to work together as a team.

“CJP is excited to have Aviation Performance Solutions as a patron partner. The CJP Gold Standard Safety Award includes UPRT as an important component of the enrichment training criteria. We are happy to have APS as a partner to help bring UPRT training using the Gold Standard pillars of professionalism, training and safety,” said Andrew Broom, CEO of the Citation Jet Pilot Association.

“Our exciting CJP partnership advances the APS purpose to Help Pilots Bring Everyone Home Safely through our organizations’ mutual core value alignment on safety, integrity, innovation, professionalism, and excellence,” said APS CEO Paul BJ Ransbury. “We look forward to contributing to the safety training options available to CJP pilots through our participation in CJP activities throughout the year in addition to our line-up of Citation upset training programs.”
