Bell Helicopter Textron [TXT] recently said it received an Army contract to modify an additional 27 OH-58D helicopters under the Kiowa Warrior Safety Enhancement Program (SEP). The Army has been moving forward to keep the OH-58D safe and reliable to bridge the gap between the cancellation of the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH)--also being produced by Bell--to replace the aging Kiowa Warrior and a new program (Defense Daily, Oct. 8, 20).
