TSA Seeks Help Supporting Covert Testing

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Information from sources with applied statistics and quantitative science in support of a program that uses covert testing to develop performance measures for airport checkpoints and checked baggage screening areas. The tests involve the planting of various threat items on role players--their person or their property--and proceed through the checkpoint or checked baggage screening process to test threat detection capabilities.
