Rockwell Collins [COL] has been selected by Thales Australia to serve as a subcontractor integrating the Digital Terminal Control System (DTCS) on to the Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle-Light system’s Integral Computing System (ICS), Rockwell Collins said Thursday.
The DTCS allows joint terminal attack controllers and joint fires observers to “seamlessly” integrate with airborne assets, artillery and naval platforms, Rockwell Collins says. It is a wearable solution for ground targeting, air support, and call-for-fire missions that can also be integrated on combat vehicles and tanks.
After acceptance of the first-of-type system that the company will design, Rockwell Collins will support Thales Australia to develop, integrate, and test the DTCS.
Contract work will occur in Sydney, Australia and runs through Feb. 2018.
