The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated SRCTec’s Lightweight Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar (LSTAR) as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT) under the SAFETY Act. The SAFETY Act provides liability protections to manufacturers and sellers of anti-terrorism technologies. The LSTAR system has also been added to the DHS Responder Knowledge Base SAFETY Act designated Product List. The RKB provides emergency responders, purchasers and planners with a trusted, integrated, online source of information on products and equipment that can be purchased under several DHS grant programs. LSTAR is a low-cost radar designed to fill gaps in air surveillance, monitor the airspace for unmanned aircraft systems and observe unauthorized border air intrusions.
