Sicral 1B Satellite Launched On Zenit-3SL Lifter From Sea Launch Platform In Pacific

The Sicral 1B military communications satellite was lofted to orbit today by a Zenit-3SL rocket rising off the Sea Launch Co. Odyssey launch platform in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, companies announced. The dual-use Italsat 3000 satellite, which will serve the Italian Ministry of Defense, was produced by Telespazio (Thales Alenia Space).
