Navy Expects To Deploy Upgraded Tritons In 2020

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.--The Navy in the next few years is planning to add a signals intelligence (SIGINT) package to its Triton unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which will allow it to begin retiring its fleet of EP-3E multi-intelligence reconnaissance aircraft, a service official said on Tuesday.The upgraded Triton will be called Triton Multi-Int for its multi-intelligence capabilities, Sean Burke, the Navy’s Triton program manager, told reporters during a briefing at the Navy League’s annual Sea Air Space conference at National Harbor,…
