The Defense Threat Reduction Agency has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to meet its requirement to conduct research in nuclear detection and forensics. The Nuclear Detection Technology Division is focusing this solicitation on applied research and advanced technology development for two programs: Advanced Detector Development, which seeks the state of the art in systems capable of detecting, locating, imaging and identifying radiological and nuclear materials in a variety of operational scenarios; and Nuclear Forensics, which seeks to develop technologies that provide laboratory-quality chemical, radiological, elemental and isotopic analysis capability in a deployed environment.
