Democratic Bill Aims To Boost Oversight Of Private Airport Screeners

Several Democrats last Friday introduced bills in the House and Senate that would increase oversight and training of private security screeners at the nation’s airports. The Contract Screener Reform and Accountability Act (H.R. 1455) is a response to higher costs for maintaining the contract screeners and security breaches that are occurring on a regular basis at airports where these screeners are used, according to the bill’s sponsors, Rep.
