Dell Inc. [DELL] said yesterday it has completed its tender offer for the shares of Perot Systems [PER] and expects to close the $3.9 billion acquisition shortly.
The transaction provides Dell with an entree into the global government and commercial services and consulting business for information technology. The deal was first announced in September.
Dell has created Dell Services, a new business unit formed by the Perot acquisition, to deliver end-to-end IT services and business solutions. The $8 billion business unit has more than 41,000 employees. Dell Services will be led by Peter Altabef, who as been CEO of Perot Systems for the last five years.
“Dell Services will be a powerful organization with the extensive capabilities and global reach to address the needs of organizations of all types,” Altabef said in a statement.
