Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a pre-solicitation notice to notify interested vendors that it’s Air and Marine Division plans to acquire marine vessels to operate in littoral waters and offshore areas of the U.S. and its territories in varying sea and weather conditions while providing the Marine Interdiction Agents with a safe working platform to perform their missions. CBP plans to acquire up to 70 Coastal Interceptor Vessels that will each be powered by four gasoline outboard engines and have a crew of three and sometimes four. The vessel will have th3e ability to mount two Mk 48 machine guns. The Coast Guard may also acquire the CIV. A Request for Proposals is expected to be released soon. Sol. No. HSBP1010R0076.
