BAE Systems has delivered its 100,000 thermal weapon sight to the Army in support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the company said yesterday. The sights are used on rifles, machine guns and mounted weapons systems and penetrate through darkness and other battlefield visibility problems. BAE began producing the sights in 2004 with a total contract value exceeding $1 billion.
