Smiths Detection says it has shipped the 200th HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX computed tomography (CT) checkpoint baggage scanner to the Transportation Security Administration, demonstrating the company’s ability to continue manufacturing the systems amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Smiths won the contract for 300 checkpoint CT systems in March 2019 although the start of deliveries were delayed due to a subsequent protest.
