The Army has awarded BAE Systems a $78.4 million order to upgrade additional Bradley fighting vehicles to the modernized M2A4 configuration.
Work on the deal, which the Pentagon announced on Dec. 14, is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026.
“The Bradley continues to prove its firepower, mobility, lethality, and survivability while transporting infantry troops safely to the fight,” Dan Furber, BAE Systems’ director of ground vehicle production, said in a statement on Tuesday. “The significant upgrades with the Bradley A4’s advanced technology and superior capabilities provide soldiers unparalleled advantages when it matters most.”
The latest order brings the total cumulative for the M2A4/M7A4 Bradley upgrade effort to $750 million, the Pentagon noted.
Last August, BAE Systems detailed a new $190 million contract modification the company received for more than 70 M2A4 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles and M7A4 Fire Support Team Vehicles, which was followed by a $274.1 million deal from the Army for 115 of the upgraded M2A4 and M7A4s (Defense Daily, Sept. 5).
BAE Systems noted the newer A4 variant of the Bradley features upgrades ranging from “the latest digitized electronics for optimum situational awareness, network connectivity, and communication within the Armored Brigade Combat Team and includes enhanced mobility, survivability and situational awareness.”
