Northrop Grumman Selects Airbus for SDA Satellite Platforms

Airbus will supply Northrop Grumman [NOC] with satellite platforms for the Space Development Agency’s (SDA) Tranche 1 Transport Layer award, the companies said Tuesday. The Airbus U.S. Space & Defense subsidiary will provide 42 satellite platforms based on its Arrow platform, a scalable 300 to 500 kg bus. The Arrow platform serves the OneWeb constellation, and Airbus OneWeb Satellites manufacturing entity will build the buses at its factory in Merritt Island, Florida, which is currently delivering up to two satellites per day.…
