Lockheed Martin Nabs Option For One FY 2019 LCS

The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] a modification on Tuesday to exercise an option to build one FY 2019 Freedom-variant littoral combat ship (LCS), LCS-31. The contract announcement did not cite the specific award value because it “is considered source-selection sensitive information and will not be made public at this time.” Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for the Freedom-variant odd-numbered LCSs, which are built by Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wisc.
