ICx Technologies’ [ICXT] Agentase business unit has introduced a new enzyme-based chemical agent detection spray that changes color when sprayed on surfaces contaminated with nerve agents. The new spray was developed in response to requests by customers of the company’s Chemical Agent Detection Kit, which provides spot measurements of nerve, blood and blister agents for first responders. The new Agentase Disclosure Spray can detect the presence of chemical warfare agents at sub microgram levels within five minutes, eliminating the need for sampling, transportation and laboratory analysis of potentially harmful agents. The spray, which can be applied from just a handheld spray bottle, can also be used to verify that a surface has been properly decontaminated.
