The Department of Homeland Security says it is nearing the end of its evaluation of Phase I proposals for its FirstSource III information technology contract and plans one more notice to industry prior to the release of down select notices. The delay in the down select notices, which had been expected last September, is being driven by the volume of proposals the department received for the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. FirstSource III is potentially worth $10 billion over 10 years.
The Transportation Security Administration
has awarded Accenture Federal Services a task order to complete applications development services that are currently in progress under the existing Flexible Agile Scalable Teams Task Order 2, as well as provide ongoing operations and maintenance support to vital TSA systems and applications. The new award runs through December. The value of the task order was redacted.
The Department of Homeland Security has announced $1.6 billion in fiscal year 2022 preparedness funding across eight grant programs, including $615 million available through the Urban Area Security Initiative and $415 million through the State Homeland Security Program. The allocations also include $250 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, $100 million for the Port Security Grant Program, $93 million for the Transit Security Grant Program, and $90 million for Operation Stonegarden, which enhances cooperation and coordination among state, local tribal, territorial and federal law enforcement agencies to bolster security along U.S. land and water borders.
