Alenia Aermacchi recently said the board of directors of its United States-based division has appointed Benjamin Stone as the new president and CEO of Alenia Aermacchi North America.
Stone replaces Alan Calegari, who had planned to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
Stone previously was vice president for Special Projects of Alenia Aermacchi North America in the United States, the United Kingdom and Turkey. Before that, he was chief of staff and director of external relations for the U.S.-based division.
Alenia Aermacchi leads the aeronautics business of its parent company Italy’s Finmeccanica.
Alenia Aermacchi North America is working with General Dynamics [GD] to pursue work on the U.S. Air Force T-X program, and with GD Canada and DRS Canada on the Canadian Fixed Wing Search and Rescue program and is exploring opportunities in Mexico due to the recent sale of the C-27J aircraft to the Mexican Air Force.
