DroneShield Demonstrates C-UAS System for Navy; Introduces Portable Response Kit

DroneShield completed a demonstration of if its DroneSentry-X counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) for the U.S. Navy aboard the Stiletto prototype ship over a six-week period. DroneShield says the Drone-Sentry-X demonstrated detection capability, detection and defeat ranges, on-the-move operation in various sea states, and effectiveness against drone swarms, involving a wide range of robotic and unmanned threats. The system consists of the company’s RFAI artificial intelligence/machine learning signal detection and classification software engine. DroneSentry-X also features an open architecture that allows users to integrate the system with other solutions. DroneShield also recently released a rapidly deployable C-UAS detection and defeat kit it calls the Immediate Response Kit (IRK). The IRK includes an RfPatrol portable detection devices and a DroneGun MKIII defeat device, in a single carry case. Both devices are already in use with military and government agencies worldwide. “The IRK was released in response to multiple customer requests for a single portable response kit, incorporating two of our market leading products in their segments,” RfPatrol and DroneGun MKIII,” says Oleg Vornik, the company’s CEO.

NEC, SITA Agree to Bring Biometric Self-Service to Star Alliance Airlines

NEC Corp. and SITA have agreed to bring biometric self-service touchpoints to frequent flyer program customers of Star Alliance member airlines. Under the agreement, the Star Alliance biometrics platform will connect to SITA’s Smart Path solution to use the company’s shared airport infrastructure that is available in more than 460 airports worldwide. NEC’s I:Delight platform, which allows passengers who have opted to use the service to e identified quickly and with a high degree of accuracy on the move, can be integrated with Smart Path. I:Delight is already in used by alliance member airlines at several airports in Europe and is able to recognize passengers who are wearing a mask. “This agreement is instrumental in bringing further scale to our biometric service, with the inherent benefits of speed and meeting customer expectations for a more touchless and hygienically safe experience across all of our member airlines,” says Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Star Alliance.

Aware, Iris ID Partner for FBI’s Next Generation Iris Service

Aware, Inc. [AWRE] and Iris ID have partnered to supply state and local agencies with access to the FBI’s Next Generation Iris Service. Iris ID brings its iris recognition hardware, which will enhance Aware’s software offerings, including AwareABIS, a large-scale automated biometric identification system, and Nexa/Iris, an iris recognition software solution and algorithm. The companies say their partnership provides state and local criminal justice agencies with fast, accurate and easy to use iris recognition capabilities. The Next Generation Iris Service is an expansion of the FBI’s biometric services beyond fingerprints to capture, store and compare iris images.
