The Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Systems Center San Diego, has selected four companies to compete for up to $200 million over five years to provide cyber warfare support services to the Defense Department. The contractors and the potential value of each individual award are: Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH], $71.6 million; General Dynamics [GD] $78.4 million; Northrop Grumman [NOC], $77.4 million; and Science Applications International Corp. [SAI], 84.5 million. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a two-year base period and three one-year options. The SPAWAR Systems Center in San Diego is the Navy’s main research, development, test, evaluation and acquisition center for C4ISR and information operations. Its functions include mission analysis, assessment and development of technology base, basic research, engineering in support of production, support to operating forces, the integration of numerous national and tactical systems in the area of cyber warfare, and more. SPAWAR says that the work to be done under the contract will help it “in creating capabilities and providing technical services to support technical and operational activities in the cyberspace domain by the Navy, DoD, and other government agencies.”
