ICx Technologies [ICXT] has received a $3.6 million contract from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency to supply its ChemSense 600 and Griffin 450 systems, which in general provide confirmatory, actionable information for broad spectrum chemical analysis. Both systems will be using integrated air sampling for chemical detection and analysis. The ChemSense 600 typically is wall mounted and draws in air to detect anomalies. When something is detected, it is run through the ChemSense multi- dimensional analysis system with the result compared to a stored library of compounds. The system can be tied into a centralized command and control system which in turn can control a facility’s air handling. Key existing customers for these ICx systems include the Army Corps of Engineers and the National Forensics Science and Testing Center.
