L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] has received a potential three-year, $9.9 million contract to provide TP-4100 live scan biometric capture systems for part of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) immigrant citizenship application process. The contract has a $6.6 million one-year base period and two $1.6 million one- year options. The systems being provided under the base contract will be fully deployed within the first six months of 2010 at all 134 USCIS Service Application Support Centers. L-1 is the original technology provider for the program, which is being procured under the Department of Homeland Security’s “First Source” contract. NCS Technologies, Inc. is the prime contractor and is acting as program manager. L-1 says the live scan fingerprint systems will capture both roll and slap prints and will be available in three configurations: kiosk; desktop; and portable units.
