US Investigations Services (USIS) has received a potential five-year, $889 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to provide biometric capture services in support of applications for various immigration benefits and U.S. citizenship.

The competitively awarded contract represents new business for USIS. Northrop Grumman [NOC] was the incumbent contractor.

The initial task order is for two months and is for $13 million.

The contract calls for USIS to perform biometric capture services at more than 130 Application Support Centers located across every U.S. state and in U.S. territories. In addition to various biometric data, USIS will also collect various biographic data.

“Our reputation as a leading provider of background investigations and other services that support federal agencies as they adjudicate claims and applications was key to our success in winning this contract,” says Michael Roberts, a company representative for USIS’ Professional Services Division.

USIS is part of Altegrity.
