Astronauts on board the International Space Station (ISS) Saturday opened the hatch to Space Exploration Technologies’ (SpaceX) Dragon spacecraft, according to a company statement.

Astronauts have also begun unloading more than 1,000 pounds of cargo from Dragon. They will refill the spacecraft with more than 1,400 pounds of cargo for the trip home, according to a company statement.

Dragon is expected to detach from the ISS and return back to Earth on Thursday,  landing in the Pacific Ocean hundreds of miles west of southern California, SpaceX said.
