Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) North American company recently said that its Stark Aerospace division has created a new subsidiary to provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services and focused operational support.
Stark Flight Services, which will be based in Columbus, Miss., will absorb Stark Aerospace’s flight operations team, which as flown the Heron unmanned aircraft system in support of United States government counter-narcotics operations in Central America.
“The experienced team of UAS and FAA-certified Stark Flight Service operators will fly the Heron system, in addition to providing tactical UAS and manned capabilities for counter-narcotics, counter-terrorism, disaster response and environmental missions,” Robert Fogelsong, chairman of Stark Aerospace, said in a statement.
IAI developed the Heron medium altitude long endurance UAS, which is built at Stark’s facility in Columbus.
