General Dynamics [GD] recently completed testing of its version of the Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC), a medium armored vehicle that is in development for the Marine Corps along with three other competitors, the company said yesterday.

The testing included evaluating performance in water and human factors issues during the assessment in Camp Pendleton, Calif. The exercise focused on troop egress and component storage, reserve buoyancy, center of gravity, water maneuverability, hydrodynamic stability, ocean speed into head seas and surf transit capability.

Other industry teams bidding to produce the MPC are led by Lockheed Martin [LMT] and BAE Systems.
