The launch of the first Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF satellite has been delayed by one day, the Air Force said yesterday.
Mission managers have determined that a piece of ground support equipment used to control one of the swing arms on the Fixed Umbilical Tower was not operating correctly. The component will be replace before the United Launch Alliance Delta IV rocket is launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla.
The new launch window is 11:25-11:43 p.m. EST on May 21, according to an Air Force statement.
