CSC [CSC] has received a potential two-year, $56 million contract extension from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to continue providing support for the Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) and Wireless Priority Service (WPS) programs. The extension has a one-year base period and a one-year option. GETS and WPS are government priority telecommunications services that bypass network congestion for authorized callers, allowing emergency calls to be connected, even when a crisis or natural disaster overwhelms land lines and wireless networks. The services CSC provides under the contract include engineering and planning, implementation and integration, communications, and operations, administration and maintenance support. The company will also engineer and implement a satellite service pilot program for voice access to GETS and WPS.
