DNDO Soliciting for SBIR Support
The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) will shortly issue a solicitation for proposals for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program in direct support of the agency’s mission. DNDO Plans Site Visit for Small Vessel Standoff Detection System
Following a Request for Information that it issued in February seeking information on Small Vessel Standoff Detection (SVSD) systems, the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) will conduct a site visit of law enforcement boats expected to deploy the SVSD system. The site visit will be in St. Augustine, Fla., on May 30. DNDO says it is using the information it is collecting from the RFI to inform the operational requirements and program acquisition strategy. Army Seeks Man-Portable Rad Detection Systems
The Joint Project Manager, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Provisional has issued a Source Sought Notice as part of a market survey to identify small businesses with existing commercial-off-the-shelf and or government-off-the-shelf solutions meeting Man-portable Radiation Detection Systems specifications. The Joint Program Manager is also interested in the small businesses that can provide services for logistics, information assurance support, test support and overall system integration. The MRDS will provide detection capabilities to the isolation and exploitation phases of elimination operations. Elimination operations include four tactical activities: isolation; exploitation; destruction; and monitoring and redirection. Hands free and handheld detection systems are sought. Sol. TSA Plans Industry Day on June 5
The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable and the Transportation Security Administration Senior Executive Industry Forum will host an initial meeting on June 5 to discuss efforts such as risk-based security, the budget and acquisition landscape, and information technology and analysis. NRL Issues BAA for Field-Based Biosurveillance
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeking approaches for in vitro diagnostic devices for highly robust self-collection diagnostic screening modality for use in austere environments and capable of use in telemedicine, and handheld devices that are more highly multiplexed and designed for diagnostic field use by a medically trained operator in a field clinic or other “primary care” setting.
