The Air Force on Tuesday said it expects to release the amended solicitation for the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) around July 26 and a contract award first quarter 2017, according to a notice posted on Federal Business Opportunities (FBO).

The Air Force previously expected a contract award in the spring. The service intends to award a contract to Lockheed Martin [LMT], Northrop Grumman [NOC] or Raytheon [RTN], which spent much of last year litigating the program. The service originally awarded the contract to Raytheon but decided to throw out the contract and recompete the program, spurring lawsuits.

The total value of 3DELRR had been previously estimated at $1.3 billion. 3DELRR is the Air Force’s next-generation mobile, long-range surveillance and ballistic missile defense radar.
