Raytheon [RTN] was awarded by the U.S. Air Force as a prime contractor on the Training Systems Acquisition III (TSA III) contract, worth upwards of $20.9 billion over 10 years if all options are chosen.
Under the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center contract selection, Raytheon is to compete in multiple order bids to provide lifecycle management for aircrew, maintenance, and systems-specific training systems on a global basis, the company explained. The contracts are indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity.
“We are more than ready to support the U.S. Air Force to maintain mission readiness when and wherever needed. This is a perfect opportunity for us to build on Raytheon’s exemplary record of cost-effective, best-in-class training services,” Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services.
Raytheon highlighted it has made investments in systems and facilities as a supplier of training services to the U.S. Army. These include the Automated Toolset for Lifecycle Activities and Services Management Information System (ATLAS MIS), a web-based set of tools that enables real-time management oversight in finance, property, and training device sustainment. ATLAS MIS is currently used for the Army’s Warfighter FOCUS program, where the system can accurately track over 30 million spare and repair parts while providing lifecycle management data to over 6,000 users and 15 companies, the company said.
Raytheon also operates two support centers: the Warfighter Support Center, a lifecycle support, maintenance, and sustainment facility that can ship device spare and repair parts around the country within hours; and the Warfighter FOCUS Customer Support Operations Center (CSOC), which monitors training sustainment activities and responses to trainer requests.
