Immediately on the heels of Providence Equity Partners’ acquisition of SRA International last week, the federal information technology services firm is getting a new chief, William Ballhaus, effective July 25.

Ballhaus, who was president and CEO of DynCorp International for two years until August 2010, when it was acquired by the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, takes SRA from Stan Sloane, who became CEO of the company in 2007.

SRA said that Sloane is leaving to pursue other opportunities. SRA Chairman and Founder Ernst Volgenau thanked Sloane for his work at SRA.

Before joining DynCorp, Ballhaus was president of Britain’s BAE Systems Network Systems, National Security Solutions, and Missions Solutions businesses from 2003 to 2008.

“Bill brings the operational, financial and leadership acumen that we believe can help us take SRA to the next level as we continue to execute on our current strategic plan,” Julie Richardson, a member of SRA’s board of directors and a managing director at Providence Equity, said in a statement.

Ballhaus is on the board of directors at DynCorp.
