Universal Detection Technology [UNDT] has received an order for its anthrax and ricin detection equipment from Dubai-based PLT Trading. “Our deal with PLT Trading to supply anthrax and ricin detection equipment in Dubai places our products in a very sensitive part of the world where the possibility of a biological weapon attack is a day to day reality,” says Jacques Tizabi, UDT’s CEO. Separately, UTD says its detection kits and instruments have been placed on the U.S. General Services Administration’s Multiple Awards Schedule program to 2013. Under the contract federal, state, and local government agencies have access to the GSA Schedule and can contract directly with UDT. UDT’s products on the GSA Schedule include the BSM-2000 Airborne Anthrax Detection System, Anthrax Detection Kits, Handheld Ricin, Botulinum and Plague Detection Kits, Personal Radiation Detector, and Gamma Neutron Detection and Search Instrument. The company’s offering on the contract schedule will be managed by The Winvale Group.
