Raytheon [RTN] says it has sold a second Mobile Nuclear Radiation Detection System (MNRDS) to Florida’s Department of Transportation. Contract terms were not disclosed. The MNRDS is a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)-based radiation detection system that was developed based on Raytheon’s work on the ongoing Advanced Spectroscopic Portal program for the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office. The company delivered its first MNRDS to Florida in October (TR2, Oct. 14).
